What A Great Year!

3 03 2009

If you made it out to Renewal this year, you know what a great youth rally it was!  At the South Baton Rouge Church of Christ, we thank all of you for joining with us in praise and worship for this weekend together.  Patrick Mead taught some powerful and thought-provoking lessons, Robin and his team led us to the throneroom of God in worship, Revival and Theatron taught us and inspired us through drama, and class teachers (Bobby Beaman, Hunter Esmon, and Christine Belaire) shared messages from their experiences.  Overall, Renewal 2009 was a great success!

I want to thank everyone that helped with this event.  It only happens because many, many people put time and energy in making it come together.  So many worked on housing, cooking, cleaning, hosting, registering, chaperoning, driving, teaching, helping, encouraging, supporting, praying- and a host of other things!  It was successful because all of you gave your time.  For that, I and all our teens are thankful.

Today, it’s hard for me to think about next year.  But, check back periodically for more information on future youth rallies.  I’ll have information on here before you know it!

“Hold On”

Life’s a bumpy ride.  The life of a teenager is full of soaring highs and blistering lows, sharp turns and massive dives.  It’s a maze of discovering yourself, finding your place, and trying to grasp what you’re here for.  It’s full of self-doubt, insecurity, false friends, and deep hurts.  Through it all, there’s only one rock- Our Lord Jesus Christ- who remains strong and secure.  And we need to hold on to him to survive the ride.

The youth rally is for 6-12 graders who would like to spend time with other teens worshiping God and learning more about Him.  Registration will be available again online, and the cost per attendant will be $10, which will get each participant admission, lunch, and a snazzy t-shirt.

If you have any questions, call Blaine at 225-927-HOPE or email Blaine at youthrenewal@gmail.com.

Hope you can join us!

In HIM,

Blaine Tucker, youth minister at the South Baton Rouge Church of Christ
